Pharmacist - Retail & Compounding

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join their community pharmacy in Mahikeng . This role combines dispensing retail prescriptions with specialized compounding services, requiring a strong understanding of both general pharmaceutical practice and bespoke medication preparation. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, providing expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare providers, and meticulously preparing customized pharmaceutical compounds. Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper labeling and patient counseling.
• Perform medication therapy management (MTM) services and provide drug information to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Prepare customized pharmaceutical compounds according to physician prescriptions, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical pharmacy standards.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Stay current with pharmaceutical advancements, new drug therapies, and relevant legislation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist , with experience in both retail dispensing and compounding.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management software and sterile/non-sterile compounding procedures.
