Accountant / Junior Financial Manager

A well-established organisation within the hospitality industry is seeking an experienced Accountant / Financial Manager to take ownership of the financial function and provide financial support to the management team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who understands the fast-paced nature of hospitality and has the commercial insight to manage finances while supporting the overall performance of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the full accounting and financial function
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Manage reconciliations, general ledger and month-end processes
• Monitor revenue, expenditure and profitability
• Analyse financial performance and provide insights to management
• Maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with auditors, SARS, suppliers and other external stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and cost efficiencies
• Provide financial guidance and support to senior management
• Assist with strategic financial planning and decision-making

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant B.Com Accounting, B.Compt or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an accounting or financial management role
• Previous hospitality experience will be highly advantageous
• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
• Strong MS Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
• Commercially astute, hands-on and solutions-driven
