HR Manager - Employee Relations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and specialized HR Manager with a strong focus on Employee Relations to join their team in East London. This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing robust employee relations strategies, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies, and mitigating workplace risks. You will act as a key advisor to management on complex ER issues, foster a positive employee climate, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. This is a critical leadership position for a seasoned ER professional in the Eastern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee the company's employee relations strategy and programs.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters.
• Conduct thorough investigations into workplace complaints and recommend appropriate actions.
• Ensure compliance with South African labor law, BCEA, LRA, EEA, and other relevant legislation.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and employees on ER-related matters.
• Promote a positive and constructive employee relations environment across all operations in East London and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HR, with at least 5 years specializing in Employee Relations.
• Proven expertise in conducting workplace investigations and managing complex ER cases.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor law and industrial relations frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong leadership presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
