Retail Assistant Manager - Homeware

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Assistant Manager to support the management of their homeware store in East London . This role is key to ensuring the store operates efficiently, achieves sales goals, and provides an exceptional shopping experience for customers interested in home goods and decor. You will work closely with the Store Manager on daily operations, staff development, inventory management, and visual merchandising. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong aptitude for retail management and a passion for creating beautiful and functional living spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, including sales, customer service, and staff supervision.


• Support the team in achieving sales targets and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.


• Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stockroom organization for homeware products.


• Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards to create an attractive and inspiring store environment.


• Train and mentor new and existing sales associates on product knowledge and sales techniques.


• Handle customer inquiries, issues, and feedback professionally.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail management or a supervisory role, preferably in homeware or furniture.


• Strong understanding of retail sales, customer service, and inventory management.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a team and motivate staff towards common goals.


• Familiarity with POS systems and retail operations software.


• A passion for home goods and creating an excellent shopping experience in East London .
