Purchasing Clerk

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and organized Purchasing Clerk to support their procurement operations in Bloemfontein . This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn the fundamentals of purchasing and supply chain management. You will be responsible for assisting with the processing of purchase orders, maintaining records, and liaising with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain organized and up-to-to-date records of all purchasing transactions, invoices, and supplier correspondence.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track shipments, and resolve minor discrepancies.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting delivered goods to ensure they match purchase orders.
• Help prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
• Provide administrative support to the procurement team as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in Supply Chain or Business Administration is a plus.
• Previous administrative or clerical experience is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of purchasing principles and inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
