Process Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Engineer for their facility in Vereeniging. This role involves optimizing and maintaining mechanical systems and processes within a manufacturing environment. The position operates on a hybrid model, allowing for essential on-site work combined with remote capabilities for planning and analysis. You will focus on improving efficiency, ensuring system reliability, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance production output. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and advancement of our client's core manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mechanical processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and reliability.
• Design, implement, and test modifications to mechanical systems and equipment.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mechanical processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues impacting production.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure seamless process integration.
• Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in process engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering or mechanical systems within a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.
• Experience with P&IDs and process control systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a hybrid role.
