Civil Engineer - Water & Sanitation

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proficient Civil Engineer specializing in Water and Sanitation infrastructure to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and maintenance of water supply networks, wastewater systems, and related facilities essential for community development. You will work on projects that directly impact public health and environmental sustainability within the Mpumalanga region. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainable infrastructure solutions and possesses strong technical and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop water distribution systems, sewer networks, and water/wastewater treatment plants.


• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and environmental impact evaluations for water and sanitation projects.


• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.


• Oversee construction activities for water and sanitation infrastructure, ensuring quality and compliance.


• Liaise with municipal authorities, clients, and community stakeholders on project requirements and progress.


• Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant environmental and health regulations.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a focus on water or environmental engineering.


• Professional registration as a PrEng with ECSA is required.


• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and management of water and sanitation projects.


• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools.


• Thorough understanding of water quality standards, treatment processes, and environmental protection measures.


• Strong project management and communication skills.
