About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient and customer-focused Aquatics Centre Manager to oversee the operations of their premier aquatic facility in Upington . This role demands strong leadership in managing staff, ensuring the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, and delivering exceptional experiences for all patrons. You will be responsible for aquatic programming, facility maintenance, budget management, and promoting the centre as a hub for health, fitness, and recreation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to lead a key community asset and enhance aquatic offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily operations of the aquatics centre, including pool maintenance, water quality, and safety procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and promote a variety of aquatic programs, such as swimming lessons, aqua fitness, and competitive teams.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and facility attendants.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and emergency regulations, conducting regular safety audits.
  • Manage the centre's budget, controlling expenses and identifying revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patrons, community groups, and relevant governing bodies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing an aquatic facility or similar leisure centre.
  • Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety protocols.
  • Current lifeguard certification and First Aid/CPR qualifications are essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Experience in budget management and program development is highly desirable.
