About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Sports Analyst to join their team based in Rustenburg . This role is critical in providing in-depth data analysis and strategic insights to enhance team performance, player development, and competitive strategies across various sports. You will work closely with coaches, scouts, and management, leveraging advanced analytics tools and methodologies to interpret complex datasets. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of sports, and the ability to translate raw data into actionable intelligence that drives decision-making and success on the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to player performance, game statistics, and tactical trends.
• Develop and implement advanced statistical models and predictive analytics to identify performance opportunities and risks.
• Prepare detailed reports, visualizations, and presentations for coaching staff and management.
• Collaborate with coaching teams to integrate analytical insights into training regimens and game strategies.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in sports analytics and performance science.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of a data-driven culture within the organization.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Sports Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports analytics, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights.
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Deep understanding of various sports, their rules, and performance metrics.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
