Senior Process Engineer - Petrochemicals

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their advanced petrochemical facility in Pretoria . This role is integral to the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical processes, ensuring efficient and safe production of high-value petrochemical products within the energy sector . You will play a key part in process improvements, debottlenecking, and the implementation of new technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for petrochemical production, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling using software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve process performance.
• Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, and maintenance.
• Lead process safety reviews (HAZOP, LOPA) and ensure adherence to safety standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the petrochemical or chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process design.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
