Key Account Manager - FMCG

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic FMCG company, is looking for a strategic and relationship-focused Key Account Manager to manage and grow their most important retail accounts in the Richards Bay area and surrounding regions. This role is central to ensuring customer satisfaction, driving sales volume, and expanding product distribution within major retail chains. You will be the primary point of contact for these key accounts, understanding their needs and developing tailored strategies to maximize mutual benefit. This position requires a proactive approach and a strong understanding of the retail landscape within the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and market share growth for key accounts.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with buyers and category managers at major retail partners.
• Present new product introductions, promotions, and category insights to key accounts.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional activities to ensure profitable partnerships.
• Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, finance) to ensure seamless execution of account strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in key account management, specifically within the FMCG industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large retail accounts and exceeding sales objectives.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of retail dynamics and category management principles.
