Business Development Specialist - Laboratory Services
SUMMARY:
A supplier of analytical laboratory services is seeking a Business Development Specialist - Laboratory Services to join their Operational Team in implementing their growth strategy in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess a technical understanding of laboratory processes and have prior experience in a business development role.
POSITION INFO:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the organic, water, and leach testing space Manage and implement new services through to handover to operational staff, including opportunity identification, business plan, board and bank submissions, training, and refinement Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients Prepare and present technical-commercial proposals and quotations, working closely with lab and technical teams Represent the laboratory at industry events, site visits, and client meetings Meet and exceed agreed sales and revenue targets Key Requirements: More than 5 years' hands-on experience in a laboratory, mining, mineral processing, or related technical environment in order to genuinely understand lab lingo, methodologies, and client pain points. A solid working knowledge of Organic, Water, and Leach (Hydrometallurgy) testing disciplines. Must have a proven track record in Business Development or Technical Sales within laboratory services, analytical, or mining-related services. Experience with international work is a strong advantage. Valid driver's license and own transport required. Willing to travel. Additional Requirements: Comfortable and confident operating in a commission-based environment with a performance-driven mindset.
