Lead Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Lead Cybersecurity Analyst to head their security analysis efforts in Vereeniging. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the detection, analysis, and response to cyber threats, ensuring the protection of the organization's digital assets. You will lead a team of analysts, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the strategic development of security monitoring and incident response capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the cybersecurity analysis team in monitoring security systems and detecting threats.
• Develop and refine incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security alerts and potential threats, escalating as needed.
• Manage and optimize security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Provide expert guidance on threat landscape and emerging attack vectors to stakeholders.
• Mentor and train junior cybersecurity analysts, fostering skill development within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis and threat detection.
• Proven experience in leading a security analysis team or function.
• In-depth knowledge of SIEM tools and security event analysis.
• Familiarity with various attack vectors, malware analysis, and forensic techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
