Insurance Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Insurance Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies within their Paarl office. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and reputation of the company by overseeing compliance activities and mitigating legal and regulatory risks. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, providing guidance to staff, and staying updated on evolving legislation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's compliance program, ensuring alignment with current legislation and industry standards.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments across various departments.
• Monitor regulatory changes and updates, advising management on potential impacts and necessary actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and prepare regulatory reports as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a compliance or legal role within the financial services or insurance industry .
• In-depth knowledge of South African insurance laws, regulations, and reporting requirements (e.g., FAIS, FICA).
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.
