About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced and results-oriented Lead Electrical Project Engineer to oversee significant electrical infrastructure projects in Durban . This senior position demands strong leadership capabilities, exceptional technical expertise in electrical systems, and a proven track record of successful project management. You will be responsible for leading project teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of complex electrical engineering endeavors. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of electrical engineering projects, from initial planning and design to execution and final handover.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for electrical components.
• Oversee the design and engineering of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and quality control.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical project challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project engineers and technical staff, fostering a high-performance team environment.

Requirements

• B.Eng or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• 10+ years of experience in project engineering, with a substantial portion focused on electrical project management .
• Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-million Rand electrical projects.
• Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, distribution, and protection.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design tools .
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
