Fleet Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Fleet Manager to oversee their diverse vehicle fleet in the Pretoria region. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of all company vehicles, from light-duty cars to heavy trucks. You will manage maintenance schedules, optimize vehicle utilization, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead a team of drivers and mechanics. This is a crucial management position requiring strong leadership, operational expertise, and a data-driven approach to fleet management, contributing significantly to the company's operational efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance, repair scheduling, and vendor management.
• Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and national transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Manage a team of drivers and mechanics, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor fleet performance using telematics and data analytics, identifying areas for improvement.
• Manage fuel purchasing programs and implement fuel efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fleet management or a senior logistics role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, transportation regulations, and safety protocols.
• Experience with fleet management software and telematics systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize fleet operations.
• A relevant degree or professional certification in logistics or business management is advantageous.
