About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and creative Food and Beverage Director to lead all culinary and beverage operations at their premier establishment in Durban . This senior role involves strategic planning, menu development, operational management, and financial oversight of multiple restaurants, bars, and event spaces. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of culinary trends , exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences that meet the highest standards of quality and service. You will be responsible for driving innovation and ensuring profitability within the F&B division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative menus and beverage programs across all outlets, reflecting current gastronomic trends .
  • Oversee the daily operations of all restaurants, bars, room service, and banqueting, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and supplier relationships to optimize costs and ensure product quality.
  • Develop and manage the F&B budget, P&L statements, and revenue forecasts.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the F&B team, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service regulations.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in a senior leadership role within Food and Beverage management, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-volume restaurant group.
  • Demonstrated expertise in menu engineering, cost control, and inventory management .
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of wine, spirits, and craft beverages, coupled with an innovative culinary approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, P&Ls, and drive revenue growth in the Durban market.
