About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join their vibrant learning center in Pietermaritzburg. This role is crucial for fostering a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where young children can explore, learn, and grow. You will be instrumental in implementing age-appropriate curricula that supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We are looking for an individual who understands the importance of early learning and is committed to providing exceptional care and education to children aged 3-5 years, contributing to a positive and dynamic team atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education best practices.
• Facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities including art, music, stories, and outdoor play.
• Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents about developmental milestones.
• Ensure a safe, hygienic, and organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
• Foster positive social interactions and guide children in developing problem-solving and emotional regulation skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and execute special events and parent-teacher conferences.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge of child development theories and pedagogical approaches.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Patience , creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
• Valid police clearance certificate and First Aid certification.
