Senior Operations Engineer - Supply Chain

About the Role

Our client is looking for a results-oriented Senior Operations Engineer to lead supply chain optimization efforts in Pretoria . This position operates on a hybrid model, combining remote work with essential on-site presence. You will be responsible for analyzing, redesigning, and implementing efficient supply chain and logistics processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations research, logistics, and process improvement, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and drive significant cost savings. You will collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and distribution teams to ensure a seamless and cost-effective flow of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the end-to-end supply chain, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions.
• Develop and implement strategies for inventory management, warehousing, and transportation optimization.
• Design and deploy new logistics systems and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to improve service levels and reduce lead times.
• Utilize data analytics and modeling techniques to forecast demand, optimize resource allocation, and mitigate risks.
• Lead cross-functional project teams to implement supply chain improvements and manage change effectively.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and operations engineering.
• Extensive experience with supply chain planning software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modeling skills.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and manage cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, comfortable working in a hybrid environment.
