Project Chemical Engineer

Our client is seeking a motivated Project Chemical Engineer to join their team based in Port Elizabeth . This hybrid role will involve contributing to the successful execution of various capital projects, from conception through to commissioning. You will be responsible for the engineering design, procurement support, and technical oversight of chemical plant projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, specifications, and P&IDs for chemical plant projects .
• Assist in the development of project scopes, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Provide technical support during the procurement and fabrication phases of project equipment.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and process modifications.
• Ensure project designs comply with all relevant engineering codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 3-6 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical industry.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle stages and documentation requirements.
• Understanding of P&IDs, equipment specifications, and construction drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a project setting.
