Senior Electrical Engineer - Grid Integration

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead initiatives in Grid Integration, working remotely. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless and stable connection of new energy sources, particularly renewables, to the national grid. You will provide expert technical guidance, develop integration strategies, and collaborate with grid operators and project teams to overcome complex challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical assessment and planning for the integration of renewable energy projects into the existing power grid.
• Develop and refine methodologies and standards for grid connection studies and compliance.
• Analyze grid stability, fault levels, and power quality issues related to new energy injections.
• Collaborate with transmission system operators (TSOs) and distribution network operators (DNOs) on interconnection agreements and technical requirements.
• Provide expert technical consultation to project development, engineering, and construction teams.
• Stay current with advancements in grid modernization, smart grid technologies, and energy storage solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering , with a significant focus on power systems and grid integration.
• In-depth knowledge of grid codes, interconnection standards, and power system stability analysis.
• Experience with power system simulation software (e.g., PSCAD, EMTP-RV, PowerFactory).
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is advantageous.
