Well Intervention Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Well Intervention Specialist to support their operations in the East London region. This role is dedicated to the planning and execution of specialized well services aimed at improving or maintaining production from existing oil and gas wells. You will work closely with reservoir and production engineers to design and implement effective intervention strategies. This is a critical technical role within the upstream oil and gas sector , requiring expert knowledge of well diagnostics, artificial lift, and remedial treatments to maximize asset value.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute well intervention operations, including fishing, milling, stimulation, and artificial lift installations.
• Analyze well performance data and conduct diagnostics to identify opportunities for intervention.
• Prepare detailed well intervention programs, including risk assessments and cost estimates.
• Oversee service companies and equipment utilized during intervention operations.
• Ensure all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical recommendations for wellwork strategies to enhance production and recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in well intervention, completion engineering, or production operations within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of downhole tools, completion hardware, and wellbore mechanics.
• Proficiency in well diagnostics techniques and analysis of production data.
• Experience with various intervention methods such as coiled tubing, wireline, and hydraulic fracturing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex field operations.
