About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Substance Abuse Counsellor to provide dedicated support to individuals seeking recovery in Nelspruit . You will guide clients through the process of overcoming addiction, offering individual and group counselling, and developing tailored treatment plans. This role requires a deep understanding of addiction, recovery principles, and the ability to foster a safe, non-judgmental environment. You will be part of a professional team committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives and achieve lasting sobriety within the Mpumalanga community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to diagnose and determine treatment needs for individuals with substance use disorders.
• Provide individual and group counselling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
• Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

Requirements

• Relevant counselling certification or degree (e.g., psychology, social work, counselling).
• Proven experience as a Substance Abuse Counsellor or in a related field.
• Knowledge of addiction treatment modalities and recovery principles.
• Excellent empathy, active listening, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients in a clinical setting in Nelspruit.
