Solutions Architect - Telecoms

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Solutions Architect to lead the development of innovative technical solutions within the telecoms industry, based in Cape Town . This role requires a deep understanding of telecommunications technologies and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and future-proof architectural designs. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and product management teams to define and deliver strategic technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, playing a key part in shaping the company's technological roadmap and competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end technical solutions for telecommunications clients, encompassing network, cloud, and software components.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and platforms to enhance service offerings and customer experience.
• Collaborate with product teams to define requirements, scope projects, and develop technical strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the solution lifecycle, from pre-sales to implementation and support.
• Create detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams, proposals, and technical specifications.
• Conduct technical workshops and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders in Cape Town .

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in telecommunications architecture, network design, or systems engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of current telecom technologies such as 5G, LTE, Cloud-native networks, SDN/NFV, and IP networking.
• Proven ability to design complex, integrated solutions addressing business challenges.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their application in telco environments.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
