Lead Analytical Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Analytical Chemist to direct critical analytical activities within their state-of-the-art facility in Centurion. You will oversee the development, validation, and application of analytical methods to ensure the quality and integrity of research materials and products. This leadership role requires a strong scientific background, expertise in various analytical techniques, and the ability to manage a team of chemists. You will play a pivotal part in supporting discovery and development programs by providing robust analytical data and insights, contributing to a culture of scientific rigor and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, validation, and implementation of analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Oversee routine sample analysis, ensuring timely and accurate results for research and quality control purposes.
• Manage and mentor a team of analytical chemists, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and maintain laboratory quality systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address analytical challenges and support project timelines.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in analytical chemistry, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in method development and validation for small molecules or biologics.
• Proficiency with a wide range of analytical instrumentation and software.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., GLP, ICH).
