Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to join their growing engineering practice based in Durban . This role is central to the conceptualization and detailed design phases of diverse infrastructure projects, including transportation, water, and wastewater systems. You will be instrumental in translating client needs and regulatory requirements into practical, sustainable engineering solutions. Working within a collaborative office environment, you will contribute to the development of key projects that enhance the infrastructure of KwaZulu-Natal .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including site development, roadworks, and utility systems.
• Produce comprehensive design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using industry-standard software.
• Perform engineering calculations for structural, hydraulic, and traffic flow analyses.
• Conduct site visits to verify design parameters and support construction activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to ensure design integration and constructability.
• Stay abreast of the latest design standards, technologies, and best practices in civil engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Professional registration with ECSA or eligibility for such.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D , Revit, or other relevant design and modeling software.
• Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, hydrology, and transportation engineering.
• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
