Senior Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join their fully remote team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the core services and APIs that power their innovative products. Working collaboratively with a global team, you will contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment and ongoing optimization. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable, and efficient backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern backend languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Python , Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Solid experience with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies is a plus.
