Operations Manager - Logistics and Distribution

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Operations Manager with expertise in Logistics and Distribution to lead their operations in East London . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods, managing warehouse operations, and optimizing the distribution network. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and improve service levels, working within a hybrid model that balances on-site management with remote coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of logistics and distribution operations, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance delivery performance.
• Manage and mentor the logistics and distribution team, fostering a culture of productivity and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to optimize the flow of goods.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and distribution management , with a strong operational background.
• Proven experience in optimizing warehouse operations and transportation networks.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to a hybrid work setting.
