Accounts Payable Clerk

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team in Stellenbosch . This role is responsible for processing all vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining excellent vendor relationships. You will play a key role in the daily financial operations, ensuring that all payable transactions are recorded correctly and efficiently. This is an on-site position, requiring regular presence at our Stellenbosch office to facilitate seamless team collaboration and operational oversight within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper authorization, coding, and entry into the accounting system.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
• Prepare and schedule weekly or bi-weekly payments to vendors via EFT or other agreed methods.
• Maintain accurate vendor master files, including W-9/tax information and payment terms.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and resolve any related issues.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable procedures and principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
