Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and technically skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join their expanding team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to our client's security efforts from the convenience of your home office. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions that protect the organization's IT infrastructure against cyber threats. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in security engineering principles, experience with various security technologies, and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating risks. You will collaborate with IT operations and development teams to ensure security is embedded into all aspects of the technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.


• Develop and maintain security documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.


• Monitor network and system logs for security breaches and suspicious activities, responding effectively to incidents.


• Conduct security assessments of new systems and applications prior to deployment.


• Automate security tasks and processes where possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.


• Provide technical guidance and support to other IT teams on security best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.


• 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in cyber security engineering or a similar role.


• Proficiency with security protocols, encryption standards, and authentication methods.


• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security is a plus.


• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is advantageous.
