Industrial Engineer - Continuous Improvement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to serve as a Continuous Improvement Specialist within their facility in Randburg . This role is instrumental in identifying and implementing improvements across all operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate product quality. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to drive significant operational advancements. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong analytical foundation, committed to making a tangible impact on our client's performance in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the identification, analysis, and implementation of process improvements across manufacturing and operational areas.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and Poka-Yoke, to eliminate waste and improve workflow.
• Facilitate and coach teams through Six Sigma projects, driving data-driven problem-solving and sustainable solutions.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to ensure consistency and quality.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, cost, quality, and safety, and report on trends and improvement opportunities.
• Train and mentor staff at all levels on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering or operations with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated expertise and practical application of Lean and Six Sigma principles, with Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable.
• Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and statistical software.
• Excellent facilitation, training, and change management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, essential for collaborating with diverse teams in Randburg .
