Community Outreach Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Community Outreach Officer to enhance their engagement with various communities. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to promote our charitable mission. While some local travel within Durban may be required, this position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement. You will play a key role in expanding our reach, understanding community needs, and fostering partnerships that drive positive social impact, working collaboratively with both in-office and remote team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse communities and promote the organization's services and programs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local businesses, and partner organizations.
• Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and information sessions.
• Represent the organization at community meetings, forums, and public events.
• Gather feedback from the community to inform program development and service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate outreach efforts and ensure consistent messaging.

Requirements

• Proven experience in community outreach , public relations, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Comfortable with both independent work and collaborative teamwork, in-person and remotely.
