Remote Delivery Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Remote Delivery Operations Manager to lead their delivery operations, working entirely from home, with ideally a base near Nelspruit . You will be responsible for managing the entire delivery lifecycle, from route planning and driver management to customer satisfaction and operational cost control. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics, excellent leadership capabilities, and the ability to leverage technology to drive efficiency and performance in a distributed team. This is a significant opportunity to shape and lead delivery operations for a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize delivery routes, reduce transit times, and minimize costs.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of a remote team of delivery drivers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Utilize fleet management software and data analytics to monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage customer relationships, address service issues, and implement measures to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with sales, warehousing, and customer service departments to ensure seamless end-to-end logistics.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivery operations management , logistics, or a related field.
• Proven track record of managing a large fleet and remote driver workforce.
• Strong knowledge of route optimization software , fleet management systems, and transportation technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage remotely.
• Strategic thinking and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
