About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mining Operations Superintendent to lead their operational teams in the East London area. This senior management role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of mining plans, ensuring the safe, efficient, and productive extraction of resources. You will manage a large workforce, oversee equipment utilization, and implement operational strategies to achieve production targets while maintaining stringent safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a strong background in mining operations and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all aspects of mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling, to meet production goals.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing and reinforcing safety protocols.
• Manage and optimize the performance and maintenance of mining fleet and equipment.
• Develop and implement effective shift management strategies and workforce planning.
• Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large operational teams and heavy mining equipment.
• Strong understanding of mine planning principles, production management, and safety systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to operational excellence in the East london mining region.
