System Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced System Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Upington . This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of servers, operating systems, and related applications. You will be responsible for system installation, configuration, performance tuning, and security. We are looking for a proactive individual with strong technical skills in Windows and Linux environments, who can effectively troubleshoot issues and contribute to a stable and secure IT ecosystem within the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, including patch management and user access control.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Provide technical support for system-related issues to end-users.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other essential IT services.
• Understanding of network protocols and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
