About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and compassionate Hospital Pharmacist to join their dedicated healthcare team in Upington . This role is integral to patient care, ensuring the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications within the hospital setting. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to manage patient pharmaceutical needs, review prescriptions, dispense medications, and provide crucial drug information. Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct dosage, form, and quantity.
- Review medication orders for appropriateness, potential drug interactions, and contraindications.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient pharmaceutical care.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (B.Pharm) or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and drug interactions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
