About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented In-house Counsel with a strong background in Commercial Law to join their legal team in Cape Town . Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including sales, distribution, and service contracts.
- Provide legal guidance on consumer protection, competition law, and other relevant commercial legislation.
- Manage and resolve contractual disputes and claims, collaborating with external legal advisors when needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations impacting the company's commercial operations.
- Advise on intellectual property matters and assist in the protection of company trademarks and copyrights.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in-house or in a commercial law firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of South African commercial, contract, and consumer protection laws.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with business stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
