ADMITTED ATTORNEY – LITIGATION & COLLECTIONS

Location: Gauteng
Employment: Full-Time

A well-established and professional legal practice is looking for an experienced Admitted Attorney with strong practical experience in litigation and debt collections to join their team.
This position is ideal for an attorney who can independently manage matters from the initial instruction through to court proceedings and finalisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of litigation and collections matters and must be highly organised, deadline-driven and confident in dealing with clients and legal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Manage litigation and collections matters from initial instruction through to finalisation. Prepare and manage summonses, pleadings, notices, motions and other relevant legal documentation. Manage instructions and progress matters through the various stages of litigation, including court proceedings. Liaise with advocates, sheriffs, clients and other relevant stakeholders to ensure matters progress efficiently. Monitor strict court and matter-specific deadlines and ensure that all deadlines are met. Manage debt collection processes and take appropriate legal action to recover outstanding amounts. Maintain professional communication with clients and provide regular updates on the progress of matters. Prepare costs and invoices and ensure accurate billing and matter administration. Maintain accurate records of all litigation and collections activities.

Minimum Requirements

LLB or BCom Law degree. Must be an Admitted Attorney. Strong practical experience in litigation and collections is essential. Good knowledge of court procedures and litigation processes. Experience managing matters through to High Court and Judge-level proceedings will be highly advantageous. Strong knowledge of legal administration, documentation and deadline management. Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with invoicing and billing within a legal environment.
