Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their prominent facility in Vereeniging . This role is central to enhancing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving operational efficiency within the plant. You will work directly with production teams, R&D, and quality assurance to implement best practices, troubleshoot production issues, and lead improvement projects. The ideal candidate brings a wealth of practical engineering knowledge, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to excellence, contributing significantly to the company's manufacturing capabilities and upholding a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and production lines for maximum efficiency and quality.
• Lead the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment, ensuring successful integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing work instructions.
• Collaborate with the quality department to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and execute manufacturing engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proven experience with process simulation, CAD software, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively guide teams and interact with stakeholders in Vereeniging .
