About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Specialist to enhance their security defenses and respond to cyber threats. This role, based in Port Elizabeth , will involve a mix of proactive security measures and reactive incident handling. You will be responsible for implementing security controls, monitoring systems for suspicious activity, and assisting in the investigation of security breaches. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security technologies such as firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Monitor network and system logs for security threats and anomalies, escalating critical issues.
• Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents and breaches.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Perform regular security awareness training for employees.
• Support vulnerability management initiatives and ensure timely remediation of identified risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT security role.
• Familiarity with common security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Basic understanding of network security, operating systems, and cloud environments.
• Experience with security monitoring tools and incident response procedures.
• Relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+ are beneficial.
