Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their operations team in Rustenburg. This role is essential for maintaining the operational readiness of all ground support equipment, ensuring seamless aircraft handling and turnarounds. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a variety of GSE, from baggage tugs to specialized lifting equipment. This is a hands-on position within a vital operational hub of the aviation industry in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all types of aircraft ground support equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in GSE.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts inventory, and service schedules.
• Ensure all GSE operates safely and efficiently in compliance with operational standards.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime to support flight schedules.
• Operate and test repaired equipment to confirm functionality and safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technician, with specific experience maintaining heavy machinery or vehicles, preferably GSE.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to GSE operation and maintenance.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain relevant airport permits.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions around Rustenburg.
