Logistics Coordinator - Pretoria Region

About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and organized Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize daily transportation and delivery operations within the Pretoria region. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient movement of goods from our distribution centers to their final destinations, coordinating a fleet of vehicles and drivers. You will be the central point of contact for dispatching, tracking, and problem-solving, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This position requires a hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail to manage the complexities of local logistics and contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily delivery routes for drivers, optimizing for time and efficiency.
• Monitor the movement of vehicles and drivers throughout the day using tracking systems.
• Communicate with drivers to provide updates, instructions, and support, resolving any issues that arise.
• Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure timely loading and dispatch of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle status, and driver performance.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding delivery status and resolve any delivery-related problems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator, Dispatcher, or in a similar transportation role.
• Familiarity with route planning software and GPS tracking systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
