Construction Site Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to manage daily operations on various construction sites in Durban . This role is critical for ensuring that projects progress smoothly, adhering strictly to blueprints, safety regulations, and quality standards. You will be the on-site point person, coordinating trades, resolving immediate issues, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
• Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site, conducting regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Monitor construction progress, identify any deviations from the plan, and proactively implement solutions to mitigate delays or quality issues.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of site activities, including labor, materials, equipment usage, and any incidents or challenges encountered.
• Ensure that all construction materials and equipment meet project specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

• A relevant trade qualification or a Diploma in Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a supervisory role on construction sites.
• Thorough understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations applicable in Durban.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
