Tax Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant to manage and optimize their tax compliance and planning strategies within their finance department located in Cape Town . This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to all relevant tax legislation, minimizing tax liabilities, and providing expert advice on tax matters. You will collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to navigate complex tax landscapes, ensuring financial integrity and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file all company tax returns accurately and on time, including corporate income tax, VAT, and PAYE.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify potential tax savings and compliance risks.
• Liaise with tax authorities (e.g., SARS) and respond to inquiries or audits.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
• Advise management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Tax Accountant , preferably with experience in corporate tax.
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with tax preparation software and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
