About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecom Cloud Engineer to join their remote team, contributing to the infrastructure supporting operations in Polokwane and beyond. This role is instrumental in designing, building, and managing scalable cloud-based solutions tailored for the telecommunications industry. You will be at the forefront of leveraging cloud technologies to enhance network capabilities, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, focusing on telecom specific workloads .
• Implement and maintain containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and automate cloud deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments through best practices and proactive monitoring.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application performance and deployment in the cloud.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and telecom applications hosted within the cloud.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent proven experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a significant focus on telecommunications infrastructure .
• In-depth knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services.
• Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools.
• Excellent understanding of networking concepts and security principles within cloud environments.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote , collaborative team.
