About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and community-driven Community Sports Development Officer to lead initiatives aimed at increasing sports participation and promoting healthy lifestyles within underserved communities. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to connect with local stakeholders and manage programs across various geographic areas without requiring physical presence in a central office. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating sports programs that are accessible, inclusive, and impactful, fostering social cohesion and well-being. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive positive change through the power of sport, leveraging digital tools for collaboration and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement community-based sports development programs tailored to local needs.
  • Identify and engage with community leaders, schools, and local organizations to foster partnerships.
  • Develop strategies to overcome barriers to participation and ensure inclusivity across all programs.
  • Manage program budgets, secure funding through grant applications, and report on outcomes.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers and coaches involved in community sports initiatives.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community sports development, program management, or youth work.
  • Strong understanding of social inclusion principles and barriers to sports participation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in using virtual collaboration tools and managing remote projects.
  • Passion for community empowerment and a commitment to making a difference through sport.
