The Sales Engineer – South Africa is responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and providing technically sound solutions. This role requires a combination of commercial sales expertise, technical understanding, and the ability to represent the brand with professionalism, maturity, and integrity. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development New Business Development — Develop new business opportunities within allocated territories Customer Prospecting — Identify and pursue new customers through proactive business development Cold Canvassing — Conduct cold canvassing in designated regions Relationship Building — Build long‑term relationships with new and existing customers Customer Presentations — Deliver professional presentations focused on value and operational solutions Capital Sales Growth — Grow capital equipment sales After‑Sales Support — Provide ongoing support to strengthen customer relationships Sales Reporting — Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts and pipeline updates Technical & Solutions Support Commissioning Support — Support commissioning of new equipment where required Basic Fault‑Finding — Conduct basic fault‑finding when appropriate Operational Assessment — Assess customer requirements and recommend optimisation solutions Quotation Preparation — Prepare accurate quotations aligned to technical standards Solution Guidance — Guide customers in selecting suitable crushing and screening solutions Commercial & Financial Accountability Sales Target Delivery — Deliver agreed sales targets and budgets Commercial Judgement — Demonstrate sound commercial judgement during negotiations Profitability Management — Build sustainable customer relationships that generate long‑term profitability Pipeline Management — Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline updates Innovation & Continuous Improvement Improvement Suggestions — Suggest practical ideas to improve efficiency and customer experience Market Intelligence — Share customer feedback and market insights with internal teams Customer Journey Enhancement — Continuously seek opportunities to improve the customer journey Governance, Safety & Professional Conduct Policy Compliance — Adhere to all policies, procedures and ISO requirements Safety Standards — Maintain high health and safety standards during customer engagements Professional Representation — Represent the brand professionally and ethically at all times Preferred Experience Required Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant technical environment Proven experience in technical sales or business development Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding Experience in crushing, screening, mining or heavy equipment (advantageous) Computer literate — Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM systems Preferred Qualifications & Technical Skills Matric \/ Grade 12 (English and Mathematics) Relevant Technical Diploma or Engineering qualification Sales qualification or Diploma (advantageous) Preferred Attributes Builds strong, trust‑based customer relationships Commercially driven while maintaining integrity Strategic thinker with disciplined execution Confident communicator at all organisational levels Resilient and determined in achieving results Organised, proactive and self‑motivated Enjoys solving customer problems, not just selling products Takes ownership and accountability for outcomes Represents the brand with professionalism and sound judgement The Ideal Individual Passionate about building customer relationships Enjoys identifying new opportunities and opening new accounts Disciplined sales mindset with resilience to prospect consistently Understands both commercial and technical aspects of crushing and screening Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively Balances technical expertise with consultative selling Delivers exceptional customer service before, during and after every sale Seeks long‑term partnerships rather than transactional sales
