Job Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Assistant Driver to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The Assistant Driver will work closely with our team of experienced drivers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in navigating to various locations and delivering goods to clients.
• Load and unload goods from the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
• Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws while driving.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and report any issues or discrepancies to the driver.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the driver or management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of local roads and traffic laws.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
