Think finance is all spreadsheets and no spotlight Think again.Our client is a major entertainment group based in Durban and theyre looking for an Accountant who can bring strong technical accounting skills commercial thinking and a hands-on approach to the role.
This isnt a back-office numbers-only position. Youll own the full accounting function work closely with the wider business and play a role in finding opportunities to control costs improve profitability and keep the operation financially healthy. With exposure to VAT creditors audits and compliance this is a great opportunity for a CA(SA) looking to put their technical knowledge to work in a fast-moving highly regulated environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounting function
  • Oversee creditors and key reconciliations
  • Manage VAT and ensure tax and accounting compliance
  • Drive cost control and identify profit improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with company and gaming board policies
  • Prepare financial reports and support month-end processes
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Provide financial insight to operational teams and management

Job Experience and Skills:

  • CA(SA) essential
  • 1 years post-articles experience
  • Strong VAT tax and accounting knowledge
  • Creditors experience
  • Commercial and operational finance exposure
  • Experience with audits and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of accounting controls and compliance
  • Analytical commercially minded and detail-focused
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
