Business Development Specialist Africa

Our client is looking for a dynamic Business Development Specialist - Africato take ownership of new business growth across the African continent. This role is ideal for a commercially minded sales hunter who enjoys opening doors building relationships and developing opportunities across multiple markets.
You will be responsible for identifying potential customers developing market opportunities and building a strong commercial presence across Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the identification and acquisition of new customers across Africa
• Research markets and uncover opportunities for growth in both established and emerging territories
• Develop targeted approaches for different African markets
• Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities
• Take ownership of the sales process from initial engagement through to negotiation and closure
• Develop trusted relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers
• Grow and manage strategic customer relationships
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue within existing accounts
• Develop commercial proposals and deliver presentations to prospective customers
• Monitor market activity customer needs and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
• Work towards and consistently exceed agreed revenue and sales targets

Requirements:

• At least 5 years experience in B2B sales or business development
• A strong track record of winning new business and delivering against sales targets
• Demonstrated experience selling into African markets
• Experience dealing with senior-level stakeholders and decision-makers
• The ability to manage longer and more complex sales processes
• Strong negotiation presentation and communication skills
• A proactive self-driven approach with a genuine new-business mentality
